John Mitchell

Wollaston Parish Councillor

I have lived in Wollaston since 1984, having moved from Rushden where I worked as an export sales marketing director in the leather and sheepskin industry. I am now semi retired and was pleased to be elected to the Parish Council in 2011.

Since joining the council I have been an active member of the Environment and Highways Working Party, the most satisfying achievement being leading the project to raise the funding to upgrade and have adopted the unmade road at The Gap.  I am also Vice Chairman of the Playing Field & Parks Management Committee.

I was chairman of the Wollaston Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group that successfully completed the village Neighbourhood Plan that was approved by the community referendum in September 2016 and has now been adopted by the Borough Council of Wellingborough.

My hobbies are cricket, golf, gardening and travel.
