  1. Welcome and Apologies

Mike welcomed everyone to the meeting.  Apologies given as above.

  1. Minutes of the Previous Meeting

The minutes of the meeting which took place on 3rd June were agreed and signed.

  1. Matters Arising

None from the previous meeting.

  1. New Community Centre and Preschool

Despite continuous chasing, there have been no further updates from the NNC S106 Team, therefore a meeting has been scheduled on July 16th with Ward Councillors Carr and Partridge-Underwood with George Candler – Executive Director of Place and Economy (Deputy Chief Executive) to raise our concerns with lack of communication.  Further updates to follow at the September meeting.

  1. Treasurer’s Report

Please see attached YTD Accounts to June 30th, 2025, (closing bank balance £24,642.80) and forecast to 30th September 2025 which show a continued loss with a forecast of £21,089.36 balance by September 30th.  The treasurer advised that the cost to run the Village Hall is £20k per annum, which is more than the income received.  Clerk confirmed that it was agreed at the December 2024 Parish Council budget meeting that the Village Hall will receive a £5000 grant in October.  Payment still not received from the Election held in May – Clerk to continue to chase.  Water bills have been increased to incorporate all meters, and the gas bill continues to be paid off (owe £1800).  A rent review is currently being carried out for the regular users to align everyone from September 2025 as there has been no rent increase since 2019.

  1. Caretaker’s Report

Bookings have slowed down.   Facebook marketing page has been set up and Busy Bees will need to take down their boards for the promotional photographs for the page.  The fire exit door has been repaired and the leak in the Oasis is being investigated.  The tap in the disabled toilet is being fixed on July 21st.  Clerk to arrange for the outside hedge to be trimmed by Hayeswood. Electrical testing has been carried out and all Category 2 issues resolved with the invoice paid.  Jaz to confirm the type of cladding material for insurance purposes (currently down as brick and concrete).  Jaz to obtain quotations for the floor repairs needed in the foyer and main hall and also for the wear and tear in the Oasis (watermarks and cracked tiles) potentially due to a leak.  Jaz to arrange kitchenware utensils required over the summer with the NNC £500 grant which has already been paid to the Village Hall.

  1. Busy Bees Report

It has been a busy term with transition days.  The preschool is set to lose 6/7 children at the end of July to school, with 3 starting in September 1 in October and 3 in December – this should take the total to 18 children by January.  An open day is to be held next week with the hope of advertising special offers and also to offer extended hours of 9am – 2pm/3pm on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  All preschool staff are to lose their pay for paperwork hours.  It was agreed by the committee that Busy Bees rent will be re-instated from September 2025 @ £10ph.

  1. Studio 52 Dance Academy (sent in by Fran Woods)

Presentation Days on 28th/29th June went very well, with many parents and grandparents coming to the Hall for the first time.  All pupils passed their assessments and one of our pupils has been placed on a short waiting list for the Royal Ballet School.  No lessons have been held in July due to school residentials and parents assuming we had finished.  Therefore, all was cleared down after the show and classes will resume on Monday 8th September.

  1. Other Users.

No reports.

  1. Date of Next Meeting
