Mike welcomed everyone to the meeting. Apologies given as above.
The minutes of the meeting which took place on 6th January 2026 were agreed and signed.
None from the previous meeting.
The final S106 Business Case application had been circulated to the committee for the Wollaston preschool and Village Hall re-development estimated at £1,100,000. The application is for £447.449 S106 monies with the balance being made up of accrued WPC cash funds (£120,000), local business contributions (approximately £100,000) and a Parish Council loan via Public Works Loan Board (approximately £532,551). The milestones were discussed with an expected project start date of May 2026 and an expected completion date of January 2028. This is all dependent on various factors including agreement at the Development Contribution Board, a successful village consultation and a planning application submission.
The closing bank balance as of January 31st was £25,206.67. (see attached). Cleaning payments are high due to PHS invoice (£336). It was agreed that we should continue with Octopus Energy for gas and electricity now that the previous debt is almost paid.
Bookings have increased for ad-hoc parties/events.
Jaz presented quotes for essential works:
Guttering work – £1,020.00 – this has been delayed due to the wet weather.
Main hall roof leak – this is causing major issues for the users. Two quotes received for patching the affected areas – £960 & £750 (to repair the entire roof would be £10,000) it was agreed to go with the contractor who could complete the job soonest due to the urgency.
Main hall flooring – to repair the crack in the main hall – £90.00
Smiths fire safety – layout drawings of both buildings £280 + VAT and 2 x A4 framed zone plan £125 plus VAT each.
Raised slab on footpath (potential trip hazard) – Jaz has arranged a contractor who will quote per slab.
No issues, a new starter has been enrolled, and a couple of children have extended their hours (current operating hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9am-3pm, Tuesday and Thursdays 9am – 12 noon).
No issues. Fran is looking into a new Thursday evening youth group – exclusively for Studio 52 dance students due to insurance. This would be a phone free, safe space to chat, play board games etc. Clerk to contact Wollaston Youth Club to obtain the petty cash to be used for this project. If the project was not to go ahead, the monies would be ring-fenced for a similar project.
No reports.
