The minutes of the meeting which took place on 2nd December were agreed and signed.

  1. Matters Arising

None from the previous meeting.

  1. New Community Centre and Preschool

The S106 Business Case application will be worked on and submitted by the deadline of the 30th of January.  The Architect has prepared and updated the ground floor plan based on discussions with Wollaston and Strixton preschool for us to review. The pre-application report will need to be re-visited and a Community Consultation prior to planning permission.  Dual use of both preschools using the Village Hall was discussed.

  1. Treasurer’s Report

The closing bank balance as of December 31st was £25,349.58.  No ad-hoc payments in December due to no bookings.  No maintenance costs in December and the guttering repair has been postponed until later this month (£1,300 forecast for February).   Final bills are in for E-on gas and electricity, awaiting Octopus invoice (£223 deposit being held by Octopus under misc).  Music license invoice received.

  1. Caretaker’s Report

Thanks were conveyed to Jaz Babar for carrying out repairs to the toilet seats, checking the water levels over the cold snap and gritting the path.  Ad-hoc bookings have been very quiet, although there have been some enquiries for January and February.  A number of jobs have been undertaken free of charge by Penny’s partner – fixing the emergency lighting and re-wiring of the water heater.  Smiths Fire have sent in a report with a couple of essential jobs including the requirement of 2 fire alarm zone charts at a cost of £350.  A contractor is due next week to quote for the small repair to the main hall floor.

  1. Busy Bees Report

No issues.  1 new starter this week taking the number to 14 children/3 staff.  Busy Bees confirmed that they are financially stable until at least August 2026.
