(e) Village Hall management Committee Update – (Draft minutes appendix 7) – it was RESOLVED that the Village Hall would receive a grant for 2026/2027, amount to be agreed at the December Budget meeting to assist with repair works. The Village Hall is losing money and forecasted to lose approximately £10K this year due to not receiving the annual Parish Council £5,000 grant and the main user not paying rent since last October. | (f) Summers Grange Update (JB) Bloor Homes have been sent a list of requirements and needs on behalf of the Summers Grange residents, to be discussed in person at the first opportunity.
These include the following : The play area not being deemed as fit for purpose or the correct size of 200sqm and the discovery that the plan was for a primary school aged children and not preschool as stated by Bloor Homes. Cllr Barber to send the Neighbourhood Plan to Adam Brown (Bloor Homes Adoption Manager) as per his request to check the details. Trees and shrubs were dead or dying when residents first moved in due to when they were planted and not having received care. 20% are expected to fail and will be replaced for planting in December/January. The pavements are showing many weeds growing in between which needs addressing before it gets out of hand. Weed killing has been added to the Bloor Contractor’s duties. A double bin for litter and dog waste has been installed too close to a resident’s property (34 Hollowell Street) and will be moved. Another dog bin is required at the bottom of the woodland area, which Adam Brown has already agreed to. Some road bricks have moved and need replacing, and this is currently being addressed. The footpath requires completing as it is now become bumpy and the white substance covers shoes. Bloor have committed to find a more suitable surface to improve this situation. A railing is required at public entrances other than the main entrance and emergency exit. This is to stop children from running straight onto Hookhams Path. Bloor have agreed to this, but it cannot be on Highways land. The bushes and long grasses around the main entrance need cutting to allow view of entry into the road both left and right. The hedge is cut twice monthly from March to October and ownership of the long grass and bushes is being established (Highways/Bloor). Cllr Savage to arrange for the MIDA signs to be removed. A meeting has been set up for 11am Friday 25th July with Bloor to walk around the estate – Councillors to attend where possible. |
