MINUTES

The minutes of the last meeting from 10th September 2025 were agreed unanimously and signed as a correct record.

FINANCES

Finances to end of September and the second quarter budget to September 30th, 2025, had been circulated – no issues. All Parish owned Trees have been audited at a cost of £1,325. We are waiting for two further quotes for the work required. The budget for trees was set at £4,000. Clerk to send out quotes once received (it was agreed to concentrate on the Priority 1 & 2 recommendations) and a decision to be made at the November meeting. Clerk to send out the tree audit to the committee. The budget for 2026/2027 will need to be increased to take into consideration replacement play equipment and surfaces due to ageing and also the MUGA maintenance and insurance.

PLAY EQUIPMENT AND ADULT GYM INSPECTION/MAINTENANCE

Mr Savage confirmed he had inspected the equipment and handed the inspection sheet to the Clerk. Repairs are required to all playparks as per the annual audits carried out in June and August of this year. Mr Savage has approached Timotay for a quotation for all work required, a further meeting will be held with Timotay on October 9th to understand and clarify the work. Once a price has been established, this will be discussed at the next meeting and then taken to full Council meeting in November to request the use of the historic Neale Close/Pyghtles monies to carry out this work in order to ensure the play equipment and surfaces are compliant. Clerk to obtain a further quote for the safety surface at the Pyghtles playpark due to the cost.

MUGA UPDATE

The committee agreed to accept the 3-year care package quote from The Playground Company at a cost of £950 per year which will extend our standard 12-month workmanship guarantee for the duration of the 3-year service.
Still awaiting the delivery of the replacement basketball height adjustment handles due to poor design. Clerk to chase.

Awaiting quotation from Mr Mark Essam, local electrician for work on the electric floodlight boxes.

Complaint received from a resident on the usage of the MUGA due to availability and anti-social behaviour, this has been responded to. Excess rubbish and bicycles on the MUGA continue to be an issue.

POCKET PARK

Mr Thompson continues to work hard keeping the garden tidy and the brown bin is being emptied fortnightly. Scott Bader have not provided a lock for the gate.

SPORTS ASSOCIATION REPORT

Cricket wicket maintenance has been completed. The main football pitch has recovered well, and the Youth top pitch has been re-seeded due to the excess use over the summer period.

Football season is going well with no issues.

Mr Perry attended the Steering Group meeting at Wollaston Secondary School last month for the Nene Valley Partnership Football Hub. A premier football pitch and pavilion are being created together with a dedicated parking area for the pavilion which will add 68 parking spaces to the site. This will include disabled bays and areas for minibuses. There will be a pathway from the pavilion to the MUGA and playing fields areas. A key element of the vision is working in partnership, both with the Partner Clubs and the local community. The facility will be used by the school during the day and hired out weekdays between 5pm-10pm and weekends all day until 10pm. The facility will add 6 extra floodlights. Mr Mitchell to check the NNC Planning Portal and Mr Atkinson to attend the next meeting on January 29th 2026 4.30pm.

PURCHASES REQUIRED

The Tree Audit has been carried out at a cost of £1,325 and the report has been received, 3 quotes to be obtained for the necessary work. Replacement play equipment for the wooden log and spinning disc have been ordered for St Mary’s playpark at a cost of £3,125.00

FIELD MAINTENANCE/MATTERS RELATING TO THE FIELD

A working party to be organised to clear the dam in the brook caused by trees. Will require equipment and potentially a skip. Mr Savage to access the work required and endeavour to arrange a working party for November.

No further updates received on the S106 business case for field maintenance; a quotation is required from Premier – Mr Silsby to chase.
