MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON

Wednesday 13th March 2024, 7pm

At The Hill Club, Upstairs Lounge, High Street, Wollaston

MINUTES

The minutes of the last meeting from 14th February were agreed unanimously and signed as a correct record.

 

FINANCES

Finances to end of February 2024 had been circulated.  No issues.

 

PLAY EQUIPMENT AND ADULT GYM INSPECTION/MAINTENANCE

Mr Savage confirmed he had inspected the equipment and handed the inspection sheets to the Clerk.  The Kangaroo springer has been repaired at St Marys and new Cradle Seats installed at The Pyghtles Park. Grass is long in St Marys, grass cutting season commences in April. Sign in St Marys play area has been damaged by a vehicle.

 

POCKET PARK

No issues.  Brown Bin fortnightly collection is clearing backlog of greenery.  Thank you to Scott Bader security for the opening and closing of the park.

 

SPORTS ASSOCIATION REPORT

Football – high proportion of games cancelled due to the wet weather/ground.  1st Team and Vets are doing well, Reserves continue to struggle with numbers.

Cricket – an overseas player from New Zealand has been secured.

Clubhouse – alarm has been serviced, awaiting quote for sound blaster, painting and tidying up has been carried out and will continue until the cricket season starts.  All anti-frost heaters have been installed.  New door required – see purchases required.

 

PURCHASES REQUIRED

Midland Trees to remove the fallen Hawthorn tree limb at £300 plus VAT – Clerk to chase.

Bollard – still out of action – Clerk to chase.

New Door in Clubhouse – there is a balance of £166.42 from the £1200 Parish Council contribution to the heaters, this balance to either pay for/towards the door or transferred to Sports Association before end of March.

Pole for Solar Light & CCTV in play area (to be discussed in next financial year after Mr Silsby has sourced the solar light).

EDF Electricity – a new smart meter has been installed, awaiting latest invoice.

 

 

FIELD MAINTENANCE/MATTERS RELATING TO THE FIELD

Cllr Milroy reminded the committee of Summer Festival date – 30th June 2024.  Layout will be as per last year.  Clerk has organised the road closure.  Mr Perry to advise if the Sports Association require a fundraising pitch.

Rabbits continue to cause an issue with the ground, Mr Green & Mr Silsby to discuss.

Mr Perry advised that he had started to look into MUGA quotes for the Tennis Courts with the pending S106 monies. Clerk to send Mr Perry any quotes and contacts held at the Parish Council office from 2019-2022.
