PLAYING FIELD & PARKS MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON Wednesday 07 June 2023, 7pm
At The Clubhouse London Road, Wollaston
ELECTION OF CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR
Mr Jones proposed Mr Savage continue as Chair, seconded by Mr Mitchell, unanimously agreed. Mr Jones proposed Mrs Milroy as Vice Chair, seconded by Mr Green, unanimously agreed.

REVIEW PROCEDURES – STANDING ORDERS & RISK ASSESSMENT
The Standing Orders and Risk Assessment were reviewed and agreed. No amendments.
MINUTES
The minutes of the last meeting from 10 May 2023 were agreed unanimously and signed as a correct record.
FINANCES
Finances to end of May 2023 had been circulated.
PLAY EQUIPMENT AND ADULT GYM INSPECTION/MAINTENANCE
Mr Savage confirmed he had inspected the equipment and handed the inspection sheets to the Clerk. No issues. Painting of 4 items at St Marys play park booked for this weekend, weather dependant. Play equipment audit for St. Marys and Playing Field undertaken June 7th. Clerk to receive details.
Adult Gym – information board is broken.
POCKET PARK
No issues. Thanks to everyone helping with opening and closing the site, gates have been open on some instances, assuming SB security. Mr Silsby to request volunteers to tidy/garden the pocket park at the forthcoming Scott Bader volunteer day on July 4th.
SPORTS ASSOCIATION REPORT
Vics football, following a tough year with major player availability issues resulting in cancelled games, additional volunteershavebeensecuredandthereforeapplicationtotheleaguehasbeenmadefortwoteamsnextyear. First team and reserve teams finished mid table, Vets finished third after a good season. Mr Cotter reported that the Youth football is going well with 160 children currently signed up. The u14’s & U11’s both won trophies in the league cup. There is a new girls’ team (Wildcats) for primary aged girls to have fun in a safe space, currently held at the field until September, moving to top school for the winter. There will be a fun day at the field on July 2nd for the youth football and the youth football also celebrates it’s 10th birthday. Cricket – youth (age 5-9) numbers are good with ample coaches available on a Friday night. All three adult cricket teams have good youth representation (under 16s). Under 9s cricket tournament held on Sunday was a success. Mr Perry advised of 2 Northamptonshire Sports school festival events at the field on 8th & 15th July. There is also a local primary school tournament being held on the 29th June. Front of clubhouse wall has been replaced with metal fence, funded by the Cricket Club. Water Leak – pipes repaired,

Grounds expert to carryout grass work when correct weather is reached – (drainage. Disc cut, over seeding etc) this cost will be split over Junior and Senior football teams.
PURCHASES REQUIRED
Tennis Court Clean has been re booked for end of June/early July. Clerk to advise date. Water can be switched on day before. Clerk and Mr Savage to receive alarm fob & key. Diary for field events to be issued (Mr. Perry). Mr Savage to look into a new Green recycle bin after multiple events have led to excess additional clear plastic bags for collection. Request for additional recycle stickers for bins after cross contamination – Mr Silsby to provide.
FIELD MAINTENANCE/MATTERS RELATING TO THE FIELD
The bund needs to be in place to enhance security at the site. Current quote £1200. Mr Jones to arrange a meeting with Steve Parkin to discuss further. Tractor has been serviced and repaired – Clerk to await invoice. Car park has kindly been strimmed by a volunteer resident – the Clerk has thanked the resident. Mr. Savage advised issue with brookbuildup/narrowing,lookintoworkingpartytoclear. MrsMilroyremindedallthatSunday25thJuneisWollaston Party in the Park 12-4pm. Gates/bollard to be opened at 830am. Grass to be cut 2/3 days prior. Mr Boddington has a plan of the event – to be sent through to Mr. Perry. A list of requirements (ropes etc) to be provided by Mr Perry to Mrs Milroy. Cess Pit – Mr Jones held a meeting with Marsh Industries who advised due to the strange usage requirements that a solution was not suitable for our requirements. Mr Silsby to send through invoice to the Clerk for Fence welding. Mr Silsby advised of a bee/wasp nest by the bridge to the Sheep field, to be monitored, may possibly require expert. Mr Silsby reported recent antisocial behaviour at the field (biking, smoking) images if available from CCTV to be provided for local PCSO. Clerk to obtain list of cricket equipment for insurance purposes for Mr Silsby. Metal sign required for main green gates to advise Keep clear, emergency access required. Mr Silsby may have one, to report back or if not, Mr Perry to obtain quote.
