SPORTS ASSOCIATION REPORT

Ground maintenance work completed on the two football pitches, although in need of rain, sprinklers are being used.
The Vics have been accepted into the Combination League Division 3 with 22 players. The Vets have moved to Northampton league from the Milton Keynes league which will alleviate travelling. No updates from the Youth football, but areas continue to be roped off to assist the grass.

New volunteer field grass cutters have been recruited
– Clerk to send tractor safety and operating forms to Mr Jones for the new users to sign and return.
Cricket – School festivals have been successful and the U13/15’s youth have been selected for Northamptonshire in the Regionals. All 3 adult cricket teams are doing well.

Car parking – a recent cricket event trialled roping off an area in the field and 80 cars were accommodated, 50 in the car park and approximately 30 in the field. Going forward for planned events, this process will be used (weather and ground permitting).

PURCHASES REQUIRED

Flat swing seat for the Playing Field area and log for St Mary’s balance circuit. It was agreed to continue to monitor the pest control requirement for the moles.

FIELD MAINTENANCE/MATTERS RELATING TO THE FIELD

Mr Silsby has applied weed killer to the courts and car park; please can this be carried out in the compound area.
Thank you to Mr Johnathan Rollins who has cleared the car park and entrance of vegetation and weeds.
Rabbit pest control is ongoing and will continue into the winter season.
Mr Silsby and Mr Perry to obtain quotations for end of season field maintenance for the entire field (scarify/Verti cutting and fertiliser) to reduce the cracking caused by excess clay. The possibility of using some of the excess S106 monies for the maintenance of pitches was discussed. Clerk to write to NNC to clarify.
The car park fencing is in need of replacement as showing signs of wear and tear due to be over 20 years old, this would not be covered by the S106 agreement.
