PLAYING FIELD & PARKS MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON Wednesday 05 July 2023, 7pm
At The Clubhouse London Road, Wollaston

MINUTES

The minutes of the last meeting from 7th June 2023 were agreed unanimously and signed as a correct record.

FINANCES

Finances to end of June 2023 had been circulated. Quarterly budget figures to end of June circulated. No issues with the exception of Tractor Fuel which is over budget – this is due to fuel prices going up and the budget was decreased due to a dry season in 2022. Budget for Tractor fuel to be increased for next year.
VAT – we are looking at the VAT reclaim process with NCALC for the current process. Clerk to update when this information is available to ensure that we are following correct procedures.

PLAY EQUIPMENT AND ADULT GYM INSPECTION/MAINTENANCE

Mr Savage confirmed he had inspected the equipment and handed the inspection sheets to the Clerk. No issues apart from the ongoing toddler swing bolts being constantly undone and safety bars have now been removed. Mr Silsby to recover if possible as seen at the weekend (recovered from the brook). Possible upgrade required for better fittings/threading. Mr Savage has obtained a quote of £120 plus fixing per new seat (2 required). Mr Savage has emailed a contact for loctited bolts to prevent this happening, awaiting response.

Adult Gym – there has been further damage to the information board. Painting has been carried out at St Mary’s Park.

POCKET PARK

No issues. Mr Savage & Mr Threadgold have kindly stained the benches, these need a second coat. Scott Bader have agreed to look at tidying the Pocket Park on their next volunteer day. New plants have been planted outside by a resident.

SPORTS ASSOCIATION REPORT

Football – no issues since last meeting. Football Club ceiling has been painted by Peter Jones. Club volunteers are painting changing room floors and walls. New carpet has been laid in the officials/umpire room. Youth presentation day was held on July 2nd. Numbers are currently being fed to Wollaston school for proposed 3G new pitch.
Cricket – no issues, youth numbers continue to flourish. 2nd & 3rd team are top of their divisions. 1st team are competing in T20 games. A successful Ladies Day was held on Saturday 1st July. No Cricket game to be held on the playing field on Saturday 15th July due to premier league.

Issue with water running into the septic tank following the recent heavy rain – drains/guttering are currently being checked.
Meeting required with Lianne Betteridge to sort payment of Insurance invoices.

PURCHASES REQUIRED

Tennis Court Clean has been re booked for Monday 10th & Tuesday 11th July. Mr Silsby to switch water on before 8am. Clerk to pass (Nigel) Tennis Court cleaner contact details for Mr Perry & Mr Silsby. Replacement tennis nets from containertobecleanedandMrSavage&MrHodsontoarrangetofit. required). Clerk to book Wellingborough Pest Control for wasp nest/s @ a quote of £50. Clerk to check if van access is required, Mr Savage to assist with this if required.

FIELD MAINTENANCE/MATTERS RELATING TO THE FIELD

The bund is being carried out on Friday 7th July. Mr Savage to raise the question of electrical access with the supplier to pre warn of any issues. Additional blue recycling bin has now arrived.
Mrs Milroy thanked everyone for their assistance with the successful Wollaston Festival held on June 25th. Proposed date for next year is Sunday June 30th 2024. More volunteers needed.
