Scott Bader have replaced the key padlock with a coded padlock, which is now missing. Mr Silsby to speak to Scott Bader Security Team for an update.

SPORTS ASSOCIATION REPORT

A quiet month due to Christmas and the weather. The Youth Under 15’s team have pulled their team due to lack of players. A Football Management Volunteer Group has been formed and they will be applying to the league to recommence Saturday adult football for next season.

Building Update – Mr Perry to investigate the high electricity bills received. A test on the Cess Pit was carried out over the Christmas period as the showers were not being used and the water was switched off. The levels proved to continue to be fairly stable and so it still remains a puzzle as to why more water than normally expected is in the tank. To be monitored over the coming months as the current rate of emptying is now at every 3-4 weeks, previously 6-7 weeks, at a cost of between £150-£300 per empty depending on the contractor (as could be alternating).

Quote received for £17K for shower configuration to change to 16 cubicles. The potential use of the S106 balance monies (£75,059) to be considered for this.

MUGA UPDATE

The MUGA project was approved by the NNC Developers Contribution Board, but the next step is to take it to the Strategic Capital Board for approval as it is a capital expenditure that needs adding to the capital programme and will need a capital budget setting up for. The next SCB is the 20 January 2025 so it will need to be taken to that as the reports from this meeting will go to the Exec for approval on 13 March 2025.

This means that Wollaston PC will be able to proceed after 13th March, subject to those approvals. Mr Perry to contact The Playground Company to provisionally book the work for the end of March 2025.

A balance of £75,059.50 S106 monies will remain which needs to be discussed at future meetings to ensure that the money is not returned.

PURCHASES REQUIRED

Budget to be reviewed in early March and if the funds are available, then it was agreed to proceed with the wet pour repair project at St Mary’s and the Playing Fields play areas at the quoted cost of £3,000.

FIELD MAINTENANCE/MATTERS RELATING TO THE FIELD

Annual Mowing Grant to the Cricket Club will be raised at the Parish Council meeting on 16th January due to concerns raised by a former committee member. The history of the Clubhouse, opened in 2003 in association with the Sports Association and the Parish Council was discussed, together with the excellent working partnership that the Parish Council and Sports Association have. Details of the notes for discussion, together with both the Cricket and Football financial accounts will be presented at the full Parish Council meeting and are attached.

It was resolved at the May 2024 Parish Council to approve the spending of £20,117 Historic S106 monies for Sports Association/Playing Field Committee recommendations – new Fencing around the car park and a more permanent solution to the roping off (fencing) for additional cars in the summer period for overspill parking to be considered due to health and safety concerns.

Mr Silsby to arrange collection of the fallen tree branch. Clerk to distribute Tractor safety and operating notes for signing for the nominated tractor drivers.

Mr Green to chase rabbit pest control. Additional fobs for the Bollard are required, Mr Silsby to enquire.
