MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON
Wednesday 10th January 2024, 7pm

The minutes of the last meeting from 13th December 2023 were agreed unanimously and signed as a correct record.
Finances to end of December 2023 & Budget figures to end of December (Quarter 3) had been circulated. No issues.
PLAY EQUIPMENT AND ADULT GYM INSPECTION/MAINTENANCE
Mr Savage confirmed he had inspected the equipment and handed the inspection sheets to the Clerk. The Kangaroo Seat in St Mary’s play area is damaged and has been removed. Quote received from Playground Supplies is £330.00 plus VAT. It was agreed to go ahead with the repair subject to a guarantee as the piece of equipment is 10/12 years old. Clerk to email Playground Supplies. Children’s seats in the Pyghtles play area are worn – it was agreed to purchase 2 new cradle seats (same as recently installed cradle seats in the Playing Fields park) using S106 monies. Clerk to arrange.
Tree work in the Pocket Park was carried out 10/01/24 and the second brown bin collection was successful.
SPORTS ASSOCIATION REPORT
Due to the weather conditions, it has been challenging times with pressure to play football matches, however there were two games held on the pitch at the weekend. Quiet month for Youth Football. Cricket AGM to be held on February 1st, 2024. Continued struggle with obtaining an overseas player for this season.
Mr Perry reported that it was a challenging time for them with rising utility costs. All three clubs have contributed a total of £3,750 towards running costs. Football Match subs have remained at £5 for past 17 years, so will look to increase. Fund raising ideas include Advertising Boards (already present for Cricket) & funding raising at the Wollaston Summer Festival.
Phase 2 of the anti-frost heaters in the Clubhouse Lounge to be agreed before the next meeting.
Kangaroo repair £330.00 plus VAT
Weed and Feed – Groundsmen to assess the grounds for Spring Weed & Feed. Check with Mr Silsby that Wilcox have been contacted.
CCTV – it was agreed to purchase an optical zoom CCTV camera for the play area at a cost of £230 supplied and fitted and adjust the current camera to view the carpark. Clerk to arrange. Clerk & Mr Savage to meet with Mr Simon Norris to discuss the option of mounting & concreting in a pole for the solar motion light (Mr Silsby is in possession of the light). Discussion held with suggestion of a Shelter due to the congregation of youths at night at the Playing Fields – location is an issue. There is a heavy wooden shelter with a tiled roof currently in the compound – this needs to be rehomed. Not suitable as a youth shelter due to be being wooden.
Picnic Bench – Insurance Claim for fire damaged picnic bench is currently being processed.
FIELD MAINTENANCE/MATTERS RELATING TO THE FIELD
Mr Savage reported a mole hill at the top of the Cricket pitch (level with the scoreboard). To be monitored and Pest Control called if any further developments.
Opening of the Bollard has been resolved during term-time by a resident and a fob handed to daily dog walking resident.
