PLAY EQUIPMENT AND ADULT GYM INSPECTION/MAINTENANCE

Mr Savage had inspected all equipment and handed over the inspection sheets to the Clerk. The adult gym equipment was all in working order except for some rust on the handle bar unit of the spin bike. Clerk to contact gym provider and check whether a repair would come under the warranty. Mr Savage washed down the equipment with water and sponge as it was muddy and oiled moving parts. St. Marys still requires a repaint in the Spring and Mr Savage has contacted someone to carry this out. St. Mary’s play area basket swing replacement ropes completed. The play audit will be booked for the Spring.

POCKET PARK

Gate opening and closing continues. Thanks to all for this. The site is clean and tidy thanks to Mr Thompson’s help. The village preschools had visited the site and enjoyed looking around.

SPORTS ASSOCIATION REPORT

Mr Perry reported a few more players are signed on to football so there may be another team next season. Still trying to set up U18’s team. Thinking about end of season prep to the pitches and Mr Perry will contact Maximow to make enquiries regarding verti-drain and seeding and cricket will be gearing up to start their season.
The electrical and plumbing repairs to the clubhouse have been completed regarding the burst water pipes to the ceiling in the cold weather. Mr Perry will pass the receipts to Clerk for insurance reclaim. Mr Essam has purchased a new LED light and wiring to the exterior as the existing cable could not be traced. A new switch has been fitted as the timer button on the light had failed. 2 x new electrical sockets have new housing on the exterior. 1 x ladies toilet light replaced due to the burst water pipes and the other light elements dried out, tested and now working. The plumber’s works have been completed. Still to do hot water and heating for cold weather and the plumber will source equipment and provide a quote. ECB funding may be available to fund the heaters. This will then prevent further damage from burst pipes in cold weather. Clerk had asked Mr Perry to provide a figure for this financial year the SA and CC had paid towards maintenance and repairs of the clubhouse which totalled £1,504 of which £482 was due to the burst water pipes and £181.42 for the lights. Mr Perry advised the lower wall to the front of the patio will be taken down as it is becoming unsafe. It will be replaced with temporary advertising boards for the season and reinstated when plans for the proposed football side extension are in place from S106 monies.
