APOLOGIES

Apologies from Mr Cotter, Mr Hodson and Mr Silsby.

MINUTES

The minutes of the last meeting from 12th March 2025 were agreed unanimously and signed as a correct record.

FINANCES

Finances to end of March 2025 had been circulated together with Budget Figures to 31st March 2025.
The end of year budget had an underspend of £132.24.

PLAY EQUIPMENT AND ADULT GYM INSPECTION/MAINTENANCE

Mr Savage confirmed he had inspected the gym equipment and handed the inspection sheet to the Clerk. St Mary’s and London Road play areas are currently fenced off due to the wet pour repair work and therefore have not been inspected. The wet pour has been vandalised at both sites, resulting in a delay with completion. Clerk to check the progress of the works at St Marys. Audits for both play areas have been booked for June 2025 at a cost of £410 plus VAT. Monkey climbing wall will be erected on Monday 2nd June, lottery grant for £6,900 received.

POCKET PARK

Opening and closing continues to be sporadic, particularly in the evenings and at weekends and the padlock is still missing.

SPORTS ASSOCIATION REPORT

Football season almost complete, both the Vets and the Rushden & Diamonds Youth had a good season. The toilet has been fixed in the football changing rooms. The new patio area has been completed and CCTV camera installed to cover the area. The loft area has been checked by a local tradesperson, and it was suggested that a different method of wrapping heated wires around the pipes was used as the frost heaters caused extremely high electricity bills over the winter period. Cricket nets have commenced for both adult and juniors, Friday night junior training commences on May 2nd and the cricket season starts on 26th April.

MUGA UPDATE

Work on the new MUGA has taken longer than anticipated due to various reasons, although completion is expected w/c 14th April. The Playground Company have requested a 50% payment of the invoice, but this has been declined as payment terms were upon completion. Mr Perry to confirm the anticipated completion date to the Clerk so that Quintin Allen of NNC can be chased for the contract/S106 monies. It was confirmed that the MUGA would be unlocked for general use and if abused, then a lock would be placed on the artificial grass MUGA. Wollaston Youth has been notified that there will be an additional cost to use these courts for training to cover floodlights and maintenance.

Thank you to Mr Perry for his continued support with the MUGA project. It was noted that in the new May term, a brainstorming session is to be held to decide how to spend the remaining £40K S106 monies (possible drainage solutions).

PURCHASES REQUIRED

None required.

FIELD MAINTENANCE/MATTERS RELATING TO THE FIELD

A meeting was held with Maximow to obtain quotes for end of season groundwork (seeding, rolling, draining etc). This cost to be split 50/50 between the Youth and Adult football. Once this has been completed, hopefully the standard of the pitches will be raised, and Mr Perry can then look at NFA funding in the autumn.

Clerk advised that there would be no electricity for the MUGA/Bollard on 15th April between 11am and 3pm. Clerk to obtain quote from Mark Essam for an electrical inspection of the Clubhouse as Clear Councils have declined to quote for the annual Insurance as an electrical inspection report is not currently available.

Chiltern Adventures will be using the car park/field for the Duke of Edinburgh expedition location start – this will be on 13th/14th May at 9.30am for cars to drop off participants.

Cess pit update – no further updates due to lack of rain and it was last emptied in January. Levels will continue to be monitored going forward.

Mr Green had received an enquiry regarding damage to a car in the car park caused by a football. Mr Green to report back that cars are parked in the car park at owner’s own risk.

DATE OF NEXT MEETING

Wednesday 14th May 2025 at 7pm at the Playing Fields Clubhouse, London Road Wollaston.

There being no further business the Chair thanked everyone for attending and closed the meeting at 8:05pm.
