MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY 08 FEBRUARY 2022, 7.00pm

MINUTES
The minutes of the meeting held on Tuesday 11 January 2022 were agreed unanimously and signed as a correct record.
FINANCES
Finances were circulated. Spends for January 2022, EON tennis court lights £24.49, Norse wheelie bin empty £43.70, Wicksteed repair of elephant springer PF £543.46 and additional RCD for the bollard £165.09. Notice was received from the insurance assessors that they have reimbursed the PC for the repairs to the clubhouse for the flood damage insurance claim in the sum of £13,603.15.
STORAGE AREA BREAK IN
The storage area was broken into in the early hours of Saturday 29 January 2022. Everything was stolen from 3 storage containers within 25 minutes as well as 23 Laurel saplings. The theft was reported on Saturday and the Police have given us a crime number 22000056737. CCTV evidence has been submitted to the Police with details of the theft and details have also been circulated on social media. Clerk has submitted the insurance claim. Discussions took place regarding replacement equipment and security. Clerk to contact gate contractors to enquire about repairs. Mr Savage will investigate repair of fence and hedge. Maximow will cut the grass at the field for now. Mrs Milroy will make enquiries with the Police regarding security advice. Mr Jones has been investigating other security devices. Day & Coles will take the tractor away for repair.
PLAY EQUIPMENT INSPECTION
Mr Savage had carried out the inspections of the play equipment at St. Mary’s, The Pyghtles and Playing Field areas including the adult gym and passed the check sheets to the Clerk. Messrs Savage and Tew will restake the Cherry tree to keep it upright on Friday at 10am and the equipment needs a repaint at St. Marys. Clerk will look for quotes.
POCKET PARK
The PF committee have been locking and unlocking the gate. Clerk had been contacted by a lady who would like to introduce herbs to the Pocket Park. It was agreed if the lady can provide her own funding, the raised bed can be used for an herbal bed. Clerk will contact the lady and make enquiries.
SPORTS ASSOCIATION REPORT
Mr Perry reported there were concerns regarding the state of the ground but it was still in a fit state so no games were cancelled which is what is required so the season is not extended. Youth are doing well but after 2 years, the Reserves have finally been beaten. Maximow will cut the football pitches when they come in to cut the cricket field. The second invoice for the aeration of the pitches has been paid. The Calor Gas area was inspected there is a problem with the gas entry pipe to the tank, a Category C fault has been found with a leak on the in-pipe. An engineer will be on site on Tuesday 15 February 2022 to replace the in-pipe, valve and lever rather than replace the whole unit. Mr Perry has logged Clerk as the contact and will drop a key for access.
Cricket is gearing up for the new season and getting ready to use the nets. A news story about the new nets will appear in the village magazine.
The AGM recently took place with the officers remaining the same and captains the same for age groups 9, 11, 13, 15 and 19. Thanks to all. A member of the Higham League has passed away so a new member is required. It is an important position to fill but Northants will ensure it continues. The Youth League AGM is in March.
PURCHASES REQUIRED
Mr Perry had been investigating potential lighting solutions to the pathway and car park. Mr Silsby will speak to the electrician to attend site shortly which solar light is the best option. One light will be mounted on a column just inside the fence, Clerk to obtain quote for column and bracket, with a light on the building. The lights will be mounted to cast light on the pathway. A further light will be erected in the storage area. There is £600 in the capital spends for storage area and £1,500 in the budge for February and March. Mr Perry will source a post box to be placed on the building to obtain a post code although enquiries need to be made to Gigaclear to ascertain whether they will be laying cable in the vicinity of the Playing Field.
FIELD MAINTENANCE/MATTERS RELATING TO THE FIELD
A tap had been left running from Saturday through to Tuesday which has not helped in the monitoring of the septic tank. Monitoring continues. Mr Hope attended to empty the tank.
Mr Savage confirmed 3 new bins with lids chained to them have been delivered to the field. Bags have been placed inside. The picnic table will be delivered and placed inside the storage area for now. There is a mole hill at the top of the field. The area is being monitored for more appearing.
Mr Boddington enquired how long the bar at the clubhouse would be available for on Sunday 05 June 2022 for the Jubilee event. 7pm was agreed upon subject to the bar staff agreeing. Permission was given for the field to be marked for the event and the Event Committee can have access to the line marker. Mats will be needed to cover the cable running from the clubhouse to the stage to prevent accidents.

COMMITTEE MEETING

Present: Dr Mike Goldsmith (Chair), Debra Styles (Secretary), Joanne Brookes.
Apologies: Mr Geoff Simmons (Treasurer), Greg Carter, Fran Woods, Kathy Betts, Sarah Layram, Maureen Green, representative from Bowls club
1. Welcome and Apologies
Mike welcomed everyone to the meeting and apologies were given as above.

2. Minutes of the AGM and Previous Meeting
The minutes from the AGM and previous meeting from December 2021 were agreed and signed. There was no meeting in January 2022.

3. Matters Arising
The hole in the roof by the preschool storage cupboard is gradually getting worse with water continuously dripping on to the newly refurbished floor, during rain showers. Debra called in G&M Roofing Ltd to have a look at the roof. They can repair the area where the leak is but have stated there are other repairs in the same area and the whole roof is in a poor condition. Work will commence during half term. Quote is £1,100 nett, VAT £220. They are a local company and have very competitive rates.

4. Treasurer’s Report
No report available. Debra to ask Geoff to circulate once it is available.

5. Caretaker’s Report
No report available although Debra had passed on some booking enquiries to Sarah.

6. Busy Bees Report
Joanne reported that Ann had retracted her resignation from the Committee as Chair temporarily until the new Committee are settled. There are currently 2 staff vacancies and there has been a slow uptake on the interviews. Interviews take place next week. Some of the children have been unsettled due to a number of factors such as the Pandemic and staff changes with some children leaving but they are settling down now with the new staff.

7. Youth Club Report
Debra report that Youth Club numbers continue to rise. The representative from NCALC is coming in with archery and curling. Hire has been paid up to the half term holiday.

8. Over 60’s Bowls
No report available but Debra had paid in 2 cheques for their hire of the hall and advised Geoff.

9. Studio 52 Dance Academy
No report available as Fran has been rather unwell. For the first time since Fran took over the dance academy, she had to cancel classes due to illness.

10. Other Users
