You are hereby summoned to attend a Meeting of the Parish Council of Wollaston which is to be held on THURSDAY 16 JUNE 2022 which commences at 7pm at The Oasis Building, High Street, Wollaston for the purpose of transacting the following business, namely:-

MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY 14 JUNE 2022, 7.00pm
At The Clubhouse, Playing Field, London Road, Wollaston

ELECTION OF CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR
Mr Tew proposed Mr Savage continue as Chair, Seconded by Mr Mitchell, unanimously agreed. Mr Tew proposed Mrs Milroy as Vice Chair, Seconded by Mr Mitchell, unanimously agreed. It was agreed unanimously that Mr Cotter would be invited to join the Committee as Sports Association representative for Youth.

REVIEW PROCEDURES – STANDING ORDERS & RISK ASSESSMENT
The Standing Orders and Risk Assessment were reviewed and agreed. No amendments.

MINUTES
The minutes of the last meeting in May 2022 were agreed unanimously and signed as a correct record.

FINANCES
Finances were circulated. There were no spends in May 2022. Capital spends, £6313.45 for the supply and delivery of the new multi play equipment at St. Mary’s play area. Capital spends for the tractor shed remain at £475.60 available.

PLAY EQUIPMENT AND ADULT GYM INSPECTION/MAINTENANCE
The new multi play unit at St Mary’s play area has been installed which appears to be alright. The annual inspection took place of the Playing Field play equipment, tennis courts and adult gym equipment as well as the play equipment at St. Mary’s play area. The inspection flagged the cross bar and clamp gap at the swings on the Playing Field. Mr Savage confirmed this is all solid and presents no issues. The rope on the basket swing at St. Mary’s is beginning to fray. Mr Savage carried out the gym inspection and Pyghtles play equipment inspection, no issues. The new development at Hookhams Path will have a LEAP (Local Equipped Area for Play), discussions to take place with developer regarding equipment.

POCKET PARK
No issues with locking and unlocking of the gate by committee members. Mr Tew asked who the person was who kindly assisted with clearing the weeds at the Pocket Park and it was discussed whether more members could come on board to help.

SPORTS ASSOCIATION REPORT
Cricket is going well. Youth hard ball cricket has both boys and girls attending with 1 girl getting into the County. Well represented overall in all groups with Friday nights very busy. ‘All Stars’ is still being done. KPI (Key Performance Indicator for Northants Cricket). The seeding to the football pitches has taken well. 2 new managers are needed for the new season, although 1 may return. Vets Saturday league begins 20 August 2022. Mr Cotter, Mr Green and Mr Perry have a whatsapp group to resolve any issues that arise. There is 1 festival still to go ahead with the schools with one festival completed. This assists with funding and opens up the site for everyone to use. Mr Tew thanked all the volunteers for their hard work and time with the football teams and cricket teams, all agreed.

PURCHASES REQUIRED
A discussion took place regarding the S106 monies that will become available as the new houses are built at Hookhams Path. Updated quotes to be obtained regarding the MUGA 5G for football and 3G for tennis, (ladies netball team have asked for site) and possible extension of the football area of the clubhouse. To be presented at September meeting.

FIELD MAINTENANCE/MATTERS RELATING TO THE FIELD
A weed and feed is required. Clerk to book G.J. Wilcox. Clerk circulated DEFRA chemical use Government registration link to Hayeswood Landscapes and G.J. Wilcox for them to complete and provide information on chemicals they use. Wilby Trees will be carrying out a tree safety inspection shortly (Afternote: confirmed for Thursday 14 July 2022). Thank you from the Events Committee to the Sports Association and Cricket Club for the use of the field for the Jubilee Events and for opening the clubhouse. Street furniture to be collected from football changing rooms, Clerk to organise. Stuart and Niall have been asked for quotes to refurbish the benches at the Playing Field. There are new benches at the Playing Field, 1 is in and fitted, another bench to go by this one and 1 other to go by the tennis courts. The Police have attended the Playing Field for knife investigation week where they are visiting local community areas. No knives were found on youths but there is a small issue with drugs. Mr Perry spoke with them and there are good lines of communication taking place.
