Attendees are reminded that in accordance with the Public Bodies (Admissions to Meetings) Act 1960 and Openness of Local Government Bodies Regulations 2014, this meeting may be recorded.
You are hereby summoned to attend a Meeting of the Parish Council of Wollaston which is to be held on Thursday 17 March 2022 which commences at 7pm at the Oasis Building, High Street, Wollaston for the purpose of transacting the following business, namely:-
1. Gigaclear presentation for Councillors – This section of the meeting will be closed to the public and press as a separate public meeting will be available for residents and the press later in March (Half an hour for presentation and questions).
2. Open Meeting (15 minutes).

MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY 08 MARCH 2022, 7.00pm

MINUTES
The minutes of the meeting held on Tuesday 08 March 2022 were agreed unanimously and signed as a correct record.

FINANCES
Finances were circulated. Spends for February 2022, Norse wheelie bin empty £29.80, Wicksteed original inspection of elephant springer PF £180 and 2 x keys cut for storage area £10. It was noted that January’s figure now reflected the credit note from Wicksteed and the PC and PF finances both tallied.

STORAGE AREA BREAK IN
The insurance assessor had visited the site. Clerk to send in latest quotes and respond to queries raised. The fence repair will begin w/c 14 March at a cost of £380. Tree replacement will be required for the hedge either Blackthorn or Hawthorne. Clerk will check with Ben Wright whether any Armco steel wire can be obtained for security. Concrete posts were discussed to assist with security in front of the hedge to the front of the PF. The Kioti Tractor repair quote was £1,345.18, confirmed to go ahead with the repair. Invoices for all the Laurel trees plus the replacements had been received and paid from CC monies paid in. Mower maintenance invoices received and paid after money in from CC and Clerk will put these in for reclaim. Signs for data tag and all other security features to be placed at storage area. Alarm will be installed shortly at the storage area, trench has been dug for the power supply.

PLAY EQUIPMENT INSPECTION
Mr Savage had carried out the inspections of the play equipment at St. Mary’s, The Pyghtles and Playing Field areas including the adult gym and passed the check sheets to the Clerk. 3 x quotes required for repainting of equipment at St. Marys to include the car, igloo, swings and balance area. It was confirmed that Clerk could complete the account request for Sutcliffes to order the new multi play equipment to be installed in May 2022.

POCKET PARK
The PF committee have been locking and unlocking the gate. Clerk and Michele had missed each other’s calls regarding the herb bed in the Pocket Park. Clerk to contact Michele again. A tidy up of the Pocket Park is required for a Village of the Year Judges’ visit in Spring. Agreed Saturday 19 March 2022, to be circulated via social media for assistance.

SPORTS ASSOCIATION REPORT
Mr Perry had sent a report in his absence which confirmed the Calor Gas Tank had been repaired. The letterbox to acquire a post code for internet had been mounted and Clerk had informed the Post Office with evidence and names of 2 nearby roads. Mr Green confirmed football is going well at all levels, with the Saturday teams doing well. The Reserves had won at the League Cup game in Moulton and are through to the next round. Youth football training is taking place at Wollaston School and going well.

PURCHASES REQUIRED
Mr Perry had confirmed that the solar light to be erected on the clubhouse had been purchased, the cost had decreased. Mr Perry will forward the invoice to Clerk for payment once the light received.

FIELD MAINTENANCE/MATTERS RELATING TO THE FIELD
A letter had been received from the Dog Warden that a Notice will be placed at the PF regarding dogs and more patrols will take place with the emphasis on educating dog owners to ensure dogs are under control, on a lead and dog excrement is picked up and removed. Thanks to Wayne for the litter bins with lids attached via a chain. Await news regarding the picnic bench. A report on social media of smashed glass at the field on Saturday 05 March 2022 was noted and the CCTV will be looked at to try to ascertain who was responsible. The tree audits and works quotes have been requested with one received and awaiting the other 2. The new wheelie bin contract has been signed as Norse will no longer be supplying the service as services going in house to NNC. Marshall Recyling Ltd has been contacted regarding a recycling unit, await response and quote. There are still issues regarding the septic tank which was emptied on 02 February. It was full by 25 February and had to be emptied again. 2 x Saturday and 2 x Sunday games have been played. Water use for these would not fill up the septic tank. An investigation is required as to how excess water is getting in to the tank, it could be rain water through the cover.
