Following County Council bus subsidy cuts to the W8 bus service, local Parishes have worked together and have managed to organise a Village Hopper bus service. The service now includes Mon-Fri to Northampton. The organisers have managed to secure funding through grants and we have therefore been told that the service is fully funded until 2020, although during the Pandemic the future of the Village Hopper was in doubt until a grant from the Government was obtained.  Funding is always required to keep the service running. Queries relating to the bus service should be directed to: clerk@cogenhoeandwhiston-pc.gov.uk.  W8 Service - From Monday 21 October 2019 the W8 service will be taken over by Grant Palmer Limited.   There are also new timetables for the 34 and 44 services.  The new Village Hopper Timetable begins 07 October 2019
Here are the timetables for the Village Hopper(07.10.2019), W8 (21.10.2019), 34 and 44 Services:Bus Timetables Village Hopper W8 34 & 44

Update Feb 2020
There have been some vehicle breakdown issues and to resolve the issue of missed trips, an account has been set up with Longmarsh for emergency hire vehicles.   Due to the cost of repairing the vehicle, the reserves have been reduced from 9 months to 6 months.  Further Sunday trips are being considered to provide additional income as finances are tight but the service is well used and essential to rural areas.  Donation box on board has been set up with more awards and sponsorship sought.  If you are interested in sponsoring the Village Hopper, get in touch to the clerk at Cogenhoe and Whiston as above.   There have been some request stops - Whiston to Wollaston 18:00 bus drop off request only.  There have been no comments from passengers about the fare increase in October or the new timetable introduced in October 2019.  Drivers have been reminded to wait at stops until the due time to leave.

FURTHER FUNDING NEEDS TO BE SOUGHT BY JUNE 2020 FOR THE SERVICE TO CONTINUE.
